TV season 2009/2010 is over and last Thursday the 62nd Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced once again. This year, the Simpsons can win the trophy in several categories.
The episode "Once Upon A Time In Springfield" was nominated in the category "Outstanding Animated Program". Other nominees are "South Park" with the episodes "200" and "201", "The Ricky Gervais Show", "Disney Prep & Landing" and "Alien Earths". In 2009 "South Park" won the Emmy in this category. Also this time Matt Stone's and Trey Parker's show will might be the strongest competition for our favourite family.
In the category "Outstanding Voice-Over Performance" two Simpsons voice actors will compete against each other. Dan Castellaneta as Homer and Abe in "Moe Letter Blues" and Hank Azaria as Moe and Apu in "Once Upon A Time In Springfield" were nominated. They will also be competing against Anne Hathaway who had an appearance in "Once Upon A Time In Springfield" and voiced Princess Penelope.
Morgan Spurlock and Jeremy Chilnick were nominated in the category "Outstanding Nonfiction Special" for "The Simpsons: 20th Anniversary Special—In 3-D! On Ice!".
The Simpsons has won 25 Emmy Awards until now. You can see the entire list of all nominations on the Emmy Award's website. The winners will be announced on August 29.
